Gluten-Free Sweet Roll Mix

What You’ll Need to Make Cinnamon Rolls

Dough

2/3 cup milk of your choice (water works too)

1 tablespoon vegan butter

1 packet of yeast (2 ½ teaspoons)

¼ cup granulated sugar

¼ cup oil of your choice

½ teaspoon vanilla

Filling

1/3 cup softened butter, margarine, or oil

½ cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons cinnamon

Frosting

3 tablespoons softened vegan butter or margarine

2 tablespoons softened vegan cream cheese 

¾ cup powdered sugar

½ tsp of vanilla

Plastic wrap for rolling out the dough.

  • MAKE THE DOUGH: Combine yeast and sugar in large mixing bowl.
  • Microwave milk and 1 tablespoon butter to approximately 110-115 degrees. Whisk into yeast mixture and set aside to proof.
  • Once yeast is proofed add in oil, and ½ teaspoon vanilla. Mix for a moment and then slowly add in the sweet roll mix. Turn the mixer up to medium-high and beat for 1½ minutes
  • Next lay out enough plastic wrap to roll out the dough to a 13" x 10" rectangle. Then wipe or spray oil on the plastic wrap so that the dough doesn’t stick to it. Grab your rolling pin and wipe oil all over its rolling surface and use it to roll out your dough to a 13x10 inch rectangle.
  • Using a knife or spatula, gently spread the ⅓ cup oil over the dough evenly leaving ½" space around the edges.
  • MAKE THE FILLING: In a small bowl combine brown sugar & cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over the oiled portion of the dough.
  • Grab to two end of your plastic wrap that are closest to you and use the plastic warp to roll the dough up into a sweet roll.
  • Next cut the rolls into 8 pieces.
  • Place the rolls, cut side down, in the prepared pie plate or pan an allow to rise in a warm space for 20-30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (f).
  • Bake 22-27 minutes until tops are golden brown.
  • MAKE THE ICING: Meanwhile, in mixing bowl, beat 3 tablespoons softened vegan butter, vegan cream cheese, and powdered sugar until smooth. Beat in vanilla and a dash of salt.
  • Drizzle over the tops of the rolls as soon as they come out of the oven. ENJOY!

Ingredients: rice, tapioca, and potato flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and xanthan gum.
